The new Wouters & Hendrix collection, in collaboration with the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), is a modern take on the historical parure, inspired by four very special women ‘living’ in the galleries of the KMSKA.
As an homage to these women’s mercurial nature, our parures are dynamic ensembles of ingeniously modular pieces. Whereas the historical parures of the 17th and 18th centuries were matching sets meant to be worn together, each of our parures allows you the freedom to build your own narrative - to explore all the ‘others’ in you.
From the punk prince of poetry, Arthur Rimbaud, hails the motto for this collection: ‘Je est une autre’.
Each parure box is handcrafted and signed with a unique number by creative director Katrin Wouters, as there are only 40 pieces available. The inside of the parure features the quote: "We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing," highlighting the playful and modular spirit of our fortieth-anniversary collection.
