Is it a magpie or a crow’s foot? We are not quite sure, and we are happy to keep wondering, because all birds fascinate us. When we first set out to cast a bird’s foot in silver, designer Katrin’s mum suggested we use one of her newborn chicks. Bird lovers as we are, we politely declined and went to a taxidermist instead.
