The story behind the jewel

‘Les Ombres de la Nuit’ is a limited edition of 10 jewellery boxes. Honouring the mysterious poetry of the night, the ‘Les Ombres de la Nuit’ jewellery box is a safe haven for stories and memories from before and after dark for generations to come. Its green complexion recalls a quaint card game mat, its circular lock decor a dart board. Flanked by fragments of poetry, intuitively assembled by cutting up existing poems and song texts, are iconic Wouters & Hendrix symbols and an f-hole, reminiscent of Man Ray’s iconic ‘Violon d’Ingres’ photograph. Fanatical collectors themselves, Wouters & Hendrix thought up ‘Le Rêve en Boîte’ as a miniature Wunderkammer for one’s most treasured possessions. All ten numbered ‘Les Ombres de la Nuit’ boxes are decorated by hand with paint and paper collage by artist Céline Felga, making them just as precious as the pieces they hold.
