The story behind the jewel

‘Tourbillon de Lumière’ is a limited edition of 10 jewellery boxes. On the ‘Tourbillon de Lumière’ jewellery box, signature Wouters & Hendrix symbols affiliate with an f-hole in gold leaf, reminiscent of Man Ray’s iconic ‘Violon d’Ingres’ photograph. The box’s creamy colour evokes the keys of an old piano, a notion reinforced by the black and white checkered dice dangling from its lock. Covered in fragments of poetry, intuitively assembled by cutting up existing poems and song texts in cadavre exquis style, the box whispers stories to commemorate for generations to come. Fanatical collectors themselves, Wouters & Hendrix thought up ‘Le Rêve en Boîte’ as a miniature Wunderkammer for one’s most treasured possessions. All ten numbered ‘Tourbillon de Lumière’ boxes are decorated by hand with paint and paper collage by artist Céline Felga, making them just as precious as the pieces they hold.
