Vive la Belgique
A celebration of the Antwerp Six and Wouters & Hendrix heritage
Antwerp’s reputation as a fashion capital was sealed in 1986, when six graduates of the Royal Academy stepped onto the international stage and changed the course of fashion forever. While the world came to know them as the Antwerp Six, their story unfolded within a wider creative circle, one that also included young jewellery designers Katrin Wouters and Karen Hendrix, who often created the very first runway jewellery for the Six.
As MoMu now dedicates its first major exhibition to this remarkable group of Belgian designers, we look back at the shared heritage that shaped those years.
