Salvador bread basket red white
This hand-woven, earthenware bread bowl, featuring a voluptuous mouth, is named ‘Salvador’ after the Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí. Though the bourgeoisie of his time may have considered Dalí a bit of a basket case, that’s not why this bread bowl was named after him. Salvador was not just an aficionado; he was truly obsessed with bread and depicted it often in his work. He elevated a seemingly simple food, our basic daily bread, into an icon representing nourishment, sensuality, and the mysterious power of ordinary objects. The Salvador bread bowl embodies (in Dalí’s own words) “the revenge of imaginative luxury on the utilitarianism of the rational, practical world,” and will be available in red or white.
