The name of Wouters & Hendrix' tableware collection 'Les Objets Mouleversants' is a play on words, transforming the surrealist term ‘objet bouleversant’ (astonishing object) into ‘objet mouleversant’: a mold-breaking object (from moule, the French word for both ‘mussel’ and ‘mold’). Thanks to the purity of its mussel shape, this bowl is arguably the most mouleversant of them all! Whereas the original Marcel bowl was made of porcelain, this new version is crafted in messing, glowing with both elegance and humour. The name is, of course, borrowed from the iconic Belgian surrealist Marcel Broodthaers, who adored the mussel because it secretes its own shell — literally creating itself. “Le moule n’a pas de moule” (“The mussel has no mold”), he noted with jealous admiration.
Wipe clean with a slightly damp cloth, then follow with a dry cloth to ensure it's completely dry.
